Shoreham By The River

Shoreham Viaduct (also known as Shoreham River Bridge) in Sussex by which the West Coastway line crosses the River Adur is jointly (with Hove Tunnel) the major engineering work of the West Coastway line between Brighton and Littlehampton. These are just a few images of the Viaduct and/or surrounding area from either the RailPicsGB collection or those that I have taken myself.
Black and white image of Shoreham Viaduct taken from a glass plate. A steam hauled train crossing the viaduct.
One of my favourites, image from a glass plate. No idea of the date or exact details, but the locomotive appears to be a tank engine of some sort.

Taken on my Fuji Finepix S5500 a Southern 377 approaches the viaduct on the Up line with the art-deco control tower of Shoreham Airport in the background showing how close the airport is to the railway. 10/09/2006.
