After the none too successful attempt at using West Worthing Sidings as short term storage for new trains that aren't yet required for service (see
https://railpicsgb.blogspot.com/2018/05/west-worthing-sidings-open.html for details) further use of the sidings has begun with the arrival of Great Northern class 717 EMU 717025 overnight from Hornsey Depot.

This gives us a sight of a brand new class 717, being introduced to replace 313s on Moorgate services, and slightly more elderly class 313s together along the West Coastway. This would have been seen a far fetched in 1976 when the 313s were introduced on Moorgate services as part of the Great Northern electrification.

I note that there are schedules in the system for additional units to run from Hornsey to West Worthing over the next couple of nights, I'll see if they run and try to update the blog accordingly.
UPDATE: 02/03/2019 No further moves have taken place, all moves in the system were cancelled.
