A Southern Region Tour to Sussex 24/06/1962

Not quite as well preserved as the Scottish images, this is a set of four slides I acquired recently and are presented in as uncleaned, either physically or digitally.

The railtour was the Locomotive Club of Great Britain's 'The Sussex Coast Limited' of 24/06/1962 and saw T9 class loco 120 starting at London Waterloo, travelling via roundabout route to the Sussex Coast with ex LB&SCR locos filling in on some of the West Sussex parts of the tour to Midhurst and along the coast. Fuller details can be found on the Six Bells Junction website which is an impressive collection of data regarding the running of special trains from the dawn of railway history to the present day. You need to look in the 'Railtour Files' page, then navigate to the date to find the link.

The order of the images here is not definitive, I might have got the order wrong!. From the information I have 30120 arrived at the head of the train into Eastbourne with no assistance.  After departing Eastbourne, M7 class loco 30055 was coupled ahead of 30120 until Rotherfield, after which 30120 continued alone to London Bridge.
