With the withdrawal of the majority of class 442s from Southern/Gatwick Express services imminent this is a short pictorial comparison of 442s with the class 387/2s that will replace the majority of 442s. After the comparatively short tenure of the 442s on Gatwick workings (after replacing the purpose built class 460s) it will be interesting to see how long the 387s last before another rolling stock shake up occurs.
