Monday 04/04/2016 saw a Network Rail test train along the West Coastway in the early evening. Starting from Hither Green at 12:33 the train ran to Blackfriars, then via Tulse Hill to Littlehampton via Gatwick Airport and Horsham.
After a short break at Littlehampton the train ran to Brighton, back to Littlehampton then to Haywards Hearth, again via Worthing before travelling to Brighton.
The next working was a return service to Hither Green via London Bridge, Wimbledon, Blackfriars and Orpington.
The train was topped and tailed by 73141 'Charlotte' in GBRf livery and 73138 in Network Rail yellow livery. The formation was made up of former MKII RFB 1256, now a Plain Line Pattern Recognition Coach; 999550 (the High Speed Track Recording Coach); MKI generator van 6261 and Radio Survey Coach 977868, formerly MKII TSO 5846.
