1980s HST Miscellany

By the early 1980s BR HSTs were the norm on Western and Eastern Region principle services and were ubiquitous at main stations on these regions. These photos are of some of the more unusual working/sightings that I took at the time. As usual mainly taken on whatever film Bonusprint (or similar) was giving out at the time so not always the best quality. Additionally, my record keeping at the time was appalling!

Firstly, an unidentified power car with barrier vehicle at Cardiff Central. With the absence of notes I reckon this is 1985 or 1986

This is one, I think, is 6/6/1981 when I travelled on 'The Midlander' railtour from Kings Cross for a private visit to Derby Works, then on to the open day at Crewe Works.Passing Derby Research the prototype HST power cars await their fate.
